08/26/02: Another week, another top 10

Read all about 'em here:

Some highlights:

1. Jerry Regier. Newly-named (by Governor Jeb Bush) to head up Florida's Department of Children and Families, Regier comes to the Sunshine State from Oklahoma, where he espouses the usual loony conservative "Christian" crap. Well, Mr. Regier initially denied it, of course, claiming that the views articulated in a magazine article weren't really his, after all he was just the co-author of the piece. Then a second article surfaced, without a co- author, from a few years before, with exactly the same sort of insane babbling. Cornered like a rat, this staunch "Christian" did the natural thing: Whined that he was being unfairly characterized by quotations of articles he had written. Nice choice, Jebbie!

2. Bob Barr, soon to be former congressman. Our political folklore will be poorer for his passing. Our political discourse will undoubtedly improve. Don't the let door smack your hypocritical, lying, adulterous ass too hard on the way out, Bob.

4. and 10. George W. Bush. Go read it yourselves; the overtired antics of this narcissistic frat boy just aren't funny anymore to anyone who cares about the United States.

5. Judy Woodruff. CNN newsreader who confidently and authoritatively reported on the make-up of the protests in Portland, Oregon as "the same small group of protestors who follow [President Stupidhead] around the country." Her source for this impeccable bit of journalism? Why, her "sources at the White House," naturally! No sense doing any actual reporting when the White House will tell you everything you need to know, right Judy?

Have a good time, folks!
