Plus, the Nigeria thing was horrible, but it has absolutely nothing to do with the Republicans/conservatives in the US (to my knowledge). It's kind of sad to see that many liberals have adopted the attack-heavy, bullying debate tactics which are commonplace amongst conservative pundits - isn't there anyone on either side who's willing to engage in reasonable discussion of the issues without demonizing or overly disrespecting those whom they disagree with?
