You seem to forget that our major media outlets are all owned by huge corporations. Corporate censorship has become more pervasive. Things have gotton worse as far as "freedom of the press" since The Insider, you know. This is becase media organizations are now, more than ever, subsidiarys of corporations less interested in truth than profit.
I hate to say it, but the corrupting of our news organizations through corporate control and meddling is a negative result of unrestricted capitalism.
