Her legal name is Courtney Cox Arquette, not Cox-Arquette. My wife did the same thing when we got married, as she never did like her original middle name. Frankly, a hyphenated last name would have been a real sticking point for me, as I believe it would have shown a lack of commitment to marriage. Also, hyphenated last names suck.
After Cox got married, she told the producers of Friends that her name was now Courtney Cox Arquette. When the first episode of Friends aired that season, the other cast members had Arquette appended on to their names, too.
I still can't believe she married that goofball. You don't suppose she lost one mother of a bet, do you?
