I appreciate the difficulty of the decision you have made and applaud your courage and determination to make the world a better place. But I am a realist (pessimist) so I see no Eden for man. We are a disproportionatley violent species with no real concept of responsibility. This is a generalism I know and does not apply to everyone on Earth but we are always going to bve dragged down by the lowest common denominator, of which there are far too many.
We have evolved in leaps and bounds both physically and mentally but unfortunately we have not yet sufficiently evolved emotionally to balance this out.
Perhaps you are right that if we do not sort things out ourselves then all life on Earth is doomed. But I have great faith in Mother nature so I believe some life would survive, notably insects, who to my mind order their lives altogether more simply and harmoniously.
I wish you all the best for the birth of your child and your future happiness.
