11/24/96: T-Boy, there's one more thing...

I too used to think like you, but something started to bother me. And that was, if we aren't all killed in some cataclysmic catastrophe that we're waiting to happen, and we do nothing, then we're going to be in the future with no plan, no changes and we're going to be fucked. Perhaps the idea of survival is too scary to think about, but, it is one of the many possibilities out there, and as much as I bow to Momma Nature, (the earth will be here way after us, no doubt), I believe that we can make a difference in the state the planet's in for the future.

There's a wonderful short short story in an collection called "50 of the World's Shortest Science Fiction Stories" edited by Isaac Asimov. (Or it may be in the sequal, "100 more...."), but anyway, these scientists develop a machine that can reach into the future and bring things back, and what gets brought back is a statue, a monument of sorts, only instead of a man, it's a giant cochroach. Thought you'd like that.

Oh yeah, you should go to http://www.tdolby.com and join the Flat Earth Society and go into the Taproom where there are threads and find one called Human Being VS Human Animal. I thing you'll find it quite interesting.
