The special theory of relativity had nothing to do with the the development of atomic power. You are confusing this theory with Einstein's quite different discovery, encapsulated in the equation E=mc(squared).

We all know that nuclear power (need I mention the infamous Chernobyl?) has been a dangerousy uncontrolable force, just as has that other poison fruit of his research -- the Bomb. Nuclear fusion, not fision would be a much better answer to our energy needs.

By the way, the theory of relativity is not an applied science, and has had little affect on our daily lives -- in fact most people would be hard-pressed even to tell you what it is (you obviously being among them). Other scientific theories have had far more impact on the world, such as Darwin's Theory of Evolution.

Einstein man of the century -- humbug!
