Maybe I assume that Ms. Amanpour is Iranian (she doesn't claim to be Persian, but she is quite proud and insistent on not being Arab) because I have actually met and talked to her.
It was in an airport in the early 90s right after the Gulf War and I told her what I thought of her reporting. We had a nice little conversation about her, her occupation, what a bitch serving in the Middle East was for most of her colleagues.
At any rate, one of the things she told me was that her father was a fairly well to do Iranian national that had to uproot his family when the Ayatollah took over. Her mother was a British citizen.
By the way, were you aware that she once shared a house with JFK Jr? No need to respond as I get the feeling whenever I am bothering to offer some facts to dimwits like you it is tantamount to casting pearls before swine.
