...see it blows my mind that so many people find the Illusionist superior. The most common comment that i get is "The Prestige' was just a grudge match between 2 mean spirited magicians. The Illusionist was a nice love story and the bad guys got their due."

Yes it was a grudge match. That's the point! Who's the better magician? Is Hugh Jackman ever going to be able to do what's REALLY necessary to win?
I find that Star Trek Iv is the one movie that really hasn't aged well. When i watched it again recently it struck me as being very very 80's, which none of the other trek films has ever really done (Okay the first one was very 70's). Still fun, but it's message and the costumes/settings/music did not date well.
