What G-Spot is saying is I have no experience with addiction or with people who have addiction problems. I am a Republican and thus believe that addiction is a choice and not a disease, and that rehabilitation is something only squishy liberals believe in, and is of no real help whatsoever to drug addicts and alcoholics.
G-Spot, you know what surprised me about the three friends I've made I've made in the past few years that have had long bouts with either drug addiction or alcoholism? I was surprised by how much smarter and more knowledgeable than I am or ever will be. In my mind, that is still something I have trouble reconciling: How is it that a smart person could become an addict in the first place?
I note that you’ve demonstrated a startling lack of empathy (at least to me anyway) at least twice now on these boards. You’re not another alternative handle for grundle, are you?
