Are you seriously arguing that we can't afford to provide universal healthcare?
For what we spent in Iraq we damned well could have fixed the terminally broken education system AND ensured medical coverage to every man, woman and child in this country.
Unfettered capitalism is every bit as mindless -- and useless -- as any other economic system. And seeking to justify oneself on "bottom line" terms is dehumanizing and entirely unnecessary in a world where, with proper direction of resources, no one would ever have to starve.
