...what's more important: a FAST election or an ACCURATE election? Mind you: Machine counters have an error rate greater than 1 % (some say as high as 5 %) which is usually NOT equally distributed. (That can be proved by simple statistical math. There's always the chance, though remote, that all the errors could have gone in Bush's favor. However, it's more likely that some went in Bush's favor and some didn't -- in an election decided by less than a thousand votes in a population of 6 million, an error rate of 0.02 % could shift the election in favor of either candidate.)
