Did you blink at the part right after Cage spits on the medal and Sinise wipes it about thirty-thousand times? You would have had to blink at a rather hyper-constant pace to have missed it. He's so obsessed with wiping off the blood, in fact, that it is not inconceivable to imagine him exiting to the nearest bathroom (offscreen--after all, we don't need to see him wipe it another thirty-thousand times-- this is only a 99-minute film, you know) to make it all shiny and new again. Perhaps De Palma should have done another split-screen right here, and showed Cage climbing his way out of the exit tunnel on one side, and Sinise shining his medal up on the other.
