Today I saw the movie in a German version (dubbed) in my local cinema. It was a big disappointment and this not only because Madonna did not show up in a cameo (as was promised somewhere). I got no idea if this is just in our localized version or everywhere... (can anyone tell me?)
Myers disappointed me completely in two points: 1. he overuses the gags of the first movie and even manages to make them worse 2. he betrayes the idea of his first movie to make a bow before the GROOVY 60´s, as he commercializes the whole picture with soundtrack and the Volkswagen (and some other products), which is so unhip and ill-placed that one may imagine VW payed the whole production.
Especially sad is all this, because Mike Myers did very well with Wayne´s World´s sequel I searched in the archives to look at the review of part one (a film which I loved) and saw even one bomb more and no reason for that. But with this one I´d suggest four detonations.
