01/18/07: It's a pity later books in the Uplift series weren't as good...

_Heaven's Reach_ was just ridiculous in terms of number of words per actual event happening in the book. It wasn't as bad as Wheel Of Time is reputed to be, but you can still tell that Brin just luuuvvvvs the sound of his own keyclicks.
