Easier to kill a bunch of animals if they're calm and orderly - so the killing is quick and as painless as economicly feasible, cuurently for cows standard is a massive electic jolt to the head. Animals aren't upset by the corpse of a strange animal (beleive me, I see this personally with dogs and cats at work), but they are upset by the sounds of pain. Bullfighting is a lot cruler than a slaughterhouse, and it's not (that) hypocritical to condem the former while chompong on a burger from Micky-D's (BTW - what's the rat content of that burger?)
