a stunning three-minute remake of the Jacques Demi film, "The Umbrellas of Cherbourg." In it, a beautiful young girl named Catherine Deneuve makes her debut. And, every single line in the film is sung! The French were not afraid of color and music then.
And neither is Michel Gondry, the director of Bjork's video "It's Oh So Quiet." The singing and dancing in the tire store is a reference to the singing and dancing in Jacques Demi's automobile garage.
