This movie was pretty good. I wouldn't go as far as barbie (below) and say it was a masterpiece, though. Judi Dench proved to me how well she can act because she plays against type (the type she's been playing lately, anyway) and does it perfectly. I'd love to known "what is Maggie Smith REALLY like" because she plays this type of part SO pefectly! And although I absolutely LOATHE Cher's singing and even more than that her total embrace of celebrity (and plastic surgery), she really CAN act. Joan Plowright does her usual perfect job. As far as comments made by the supposed Italian below, hey numbnuts: it's thinking like that that starts wars.
