When everyone is panicing and trying to run out of the disco, Terminator opens fire for three reasons:
1. With heaps of people running everywhere he might loose Sarah and never find her again.
2. He can't run after her with dozens of people in the way.
3. It doesn't matter how many people die so long as Sarah dies too.
