Yes, a remake indeed. It was made in 1994 when the two stars Renee Zelweger and Matthew McConahey were virtual nobodys. Now with their super stardom just starting Columbia/Tristar is finally releasing the movie. It was originally titled "Return of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre" but the U.S. re-titled it "Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation"... (I figure to appeal to teenagers)... Anyway, I also heard it is McConahey's best work so far and he plays Vilmer in the movie. Zelweger plays the Marilyn Burns part of the original. The film has gotten rave reviews by Bob Briggs and many others. Columbia/ Tristar is not releasing it in many theatres though, so chances are many will not see it until it comes out on video.
