Actually, the first one was scary cause of the dinner scene. C'mon Granpa.
As much as I enjoy the original and it's total nihilism, I didn't really mind revenge aspect of the new one. It kind of eased the tension. Of course, I didn't pay to see it...then I would have been pissed.
