1. What's the most unnecessary MOVIE remake?

I didn't see either version of Psycho. My gut goes with Burton's "Planet of the Apes", but it had potential at least. Sci-Fi's DUNE was a mini-series, so it's disqualified. The 70's musical version of LOST HORIZON is pretty fucking terrible...but I never saw the original. NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN was a poor remake of THUNDERBALL. So I'm picking THE ISLAND OF DR. MOREAU, the 70's version wasn't any good, and the 1990's version was plain awful, despite Fairuza Balk. The film also gave us the mini-me concept (Marlon Brando's Moreau and a tiny man that dressed like him)that was funny for 3 minutes before everyone did their unfunny version of it (well, Conan O'Brien's Little Jay Leno was funny).

2. What's the most awful move "remade" from a TELEVISION show?

Based on what I've seen I wanna say LOST IN SPACE, just due to the wasted effects budget and the crappy CGI space monkey and bad acting. But the real "winner" is SCOOBY DOO.

3. What's the best remake? (all inclusive)

John Carpenter's THE THING is all I can come up with.
