I'm not entirely sure of the timeline, but I think that one of the problems was that the bodies had stopped being dumped before the first victim had been found. The first killing was in 82, the first victim found in 84.
If that was the case, then copycats would be very improbable.
I'm still waiting to see if he's responsible for the Vancouver murders.
