People are such idiots. I checked out the corporate welfare millionaire farmers, and found that not only is my entire family on this list, but most of the people in the county that I know. What a joke! These people are poor. These subsidies barely keep them going. Why don't you look at the list of small farmers (the majority of the farmers on the list) and think about the fact that they spend more money producing the crops than they get when they sell it. In fact, I would say that they are crazy for trying to feed and clothe the people of the US and the world when they can barely feed and clothe themselves. You also need to realize that many of these larger farms that get 2 -3 million dollars in subsidies are actually owned by several families, and include hired farm hands. When you divide these subsidies up among the families and their employees these subsidies amount to a couple thousand dollars per person. Perhaps there are a handful of large wealthy farmers, but overall most farmers are poor and in deep debt. Many people in my family have to work extra jobs so they can keep farming. Farmers are hardworking people. I'd rather have my taxes go to help a farm family than a family who perpetually lives off the system while sitting on their fat butts.
