In order to create a capitalist system and society, a government must exist to provide for and protect its security. It requires taxes to operate, and must get involved with the economy in some way (this just becomes inevitable since no system is a perfect utopia). This protects us against monopolies, out-of-control inflation, and times of economic distress. In other words, it accounts for the realities that occur in a system that doesn't exist in a vaccuum. And of course, one part of this is corporate welfare. Anyone displeased with it can cast their vote differently in the next election.
