07/30/1998: An analysis on retarded people

Posted By: Pvt_Gump

When I listened to Matt Dillon’s character tell his emotional story about the work he was doing with Retarded people, I practically stood up and cheered. I admit, he contrived the story to ‘woo’ Mary, however, the story was a bold one of triumph. If only more people had the type of empathy that Matt showed for those pathetic, mumbling, goofy bastards, there would be allot less hurt in this world.

But, I am just as bad as the next person. I have been known to get impatient and push a retard or two out of the way when I am trying to get through the mall, and don’t get me started on people in wheel chairs, but I digress. My point in the post is to further promote the message in this movie, tolerance for retards.

Perhaps we are the retarded people of this world and ‘they’ have a deeper understanding of the mysteries in life.

Until then, walk faster you goofy bastards, I’m trying to get to my car!
