So many choices. Here are a few of mine:
The Thing - John Carpenter's version that is.
Ditto on The Searchers and Silence of the Lambs
Star Wars - A New Hope
Last of the Mohicans – I love the way the film goes full circle – it starts with a magnificent shot of the wilderness - forested mountains and valleys, focuses in on the story and then once the story resolves, draws back out to the wilderness again. Always makes me wonder if the camera simply looked another direction and focused in on another valley, what story would unfold.
No Way Out – when you find out what the movie was really about.
And besides Pitch Black, I’ll add Chronicles of Riddick – you keep what you kill. Lol
Elizabeth – roughly paraphrasing: ‘Behold Lord Burleigh, I am married to England’
Napoleon Dynamite (“I love Technology’ - lol)
Master and Commander
LOTR: The Return of the King – I view this as simply the ending to one big film that was split into three.
Gone with the Wind – I wonder if the film would have had such a lasting impact if they had given it a bland happy ending?
Rear Window
Dances with Wolves with Wind-in-his-Hair declaring his friendship to Dunbar for all the world to hear
