Very interesting... but foul!!!
Seriously, that HDTV bullshit* is supposed to happen in about a year... many poorer families can't afford a nice new flat TV... now suddenly here's a check for $1200 + $300 x all your kids. How many families will run out and buy this new giant TV (especially since the biggest TV night is next Sunday, the Super Bowl!! I'm sure people will spend this money before they have it in hand thanks to credit cards.) Can it be more obvious George Bailey? "Mr. Potter isn't selling, he's buying [a TV!]"
*I've got bad vision and need glasses, HD and "Analog" look the same to me (aside from the widescreen and this TV had a chip that produced a billion colors.) I tested it at my uncles while watching a Mets game and The Masters.
