There be is a stadium next door to the appartment we is be staying in that has a concert every thurs - sat. itīs so loud you really donīt need to go into the show as it wails excessively loud into my bedroom and throughout the rest of the apartment.
I went to the show last night for the first time with two brazilian dudes Iīd met. There were two groups performing, the first was more pop reggae, the second was some sort of traditional jamaican roots reggae with some dub in there somewhere. I left during the first group as the people there seemed a little young and I felt out of place, but I could hear the second group from the apartment and let me tell you, they were quite impressive, definitely not rip-off stuff, very genuine root reggee even if they werenīt jamaican, Iīdonīt know if they were.
when carnival officially starts the shows will all be free, but now they are 10 bucks a piece, there doesnīt seem to be a need to go into any of them as the shit is so loud it provides a soundtrack for wherever you are at any given time, so milling around town or hanging at the appartment is preferable to being at the show itself where itīs to loud.
