The real poroblem with `Thinner' is not that it is a lousy film adaptation of a crappy potboiler book, but that it is based on racist slurs. Would Mr McCranky have posted a review that read ` The only real lesson in the film is "stay away from niggers". Apparently niggers are really vindictive and if you piss them off they'll put a voodooo spell on you and screw you good.'?? I think not. Yet `Gypsies'[note the capital as a proper noun] is as offensive a term to Roma [the correct term] as nigger is to African -Americans. Mr King was made aware of this when the book was published, and the producers were made aware of this in the pre-production phase, yet this mind-dribble was still made.
