03/21/1999: CNN Poll: TRL Scores Dead Last in Oscar Bid

OK all you artsy-fartsy TRL lovers - take this:

CNN did an on-line poll of the Oscar contenders for best picture, and TRL scored dead last. Here's the poll numbers as of about 3:40 PM EST 21 March:

Saving Private Ryan, 62%, 9808 votes
Life is Beautiful, 15%, 2380 votes
Shakespeare in Love, 14%, 2146 votes
Elizabeth, 5%, 771 votes
The Thin Red Line, 4%, 621 votes

And you know that those 621 votes must have come mostly from the the TRL production crew and cast, and their friends and families.

So there. Hah!
