I guess this movie was a real stinker. I wouldn't know, the movie theaters where I live didn't even show it. Doesn't really matter though. It sounds like they took an outstanding book about an infantry platoon during the war and tried to turn it into an opera. I would suggest reading the book, it is good. I believe it was written by James Jones and was first published in like 1962. I read it serveral years ago. The First Sgt. in the book, I don't recall his name, was the best character. Thanks Mr. Cranky for saving me the aggrivation of seeing this flick, I'll take your word that its a stinker and I won't even bother renting it.
