They told me that if I swallowed gum a gum tree would grow out of my belly button. So I didn't swallow gum, naturally.
Also, when my little brother was born (I was about 4 at the time), they gave me a Matchbox Garage set and told me it was a present from him (this was before he was born). That bought him a couple months amnesty, but once I realized I had been boondoggled, I showed him little mercy.
