... here are some final thoughts:
First off, the girl that was cast as Chani was PERFECT.. Absolutely perfect.. Exotic, alluring, strong-willed, believeable as a warrior.. She was PERFECT.. I LOVED the scene where Paul exits his tent to find Chani in the process of removing her knife from the body of someone who had come to challenge him... "He was not worthy of you, Muad'dib"... Indeed, Chani!
Also, i must admit that, as the story progressed, the guy playing Paul got better...
I also have to say that i was quite impressed with the fact that the creators managed to work in some of the underlying sexual undertones of the story... (They actually included scenes (although they were dreamlike in quality) of the Fremen orgies!) Alot of people, i'm sure, never realized the intense sexual nature that's ingrained in the "Dune"-mythos... Was really pleased to see the director attempt to introduce that theme into the series...
And say what you want about CGI, but that scene of with the ornithopters breaking through the shield-wall during the final battle was pretty amazing..
This series definitely did not disappoint...
I can't wait for the sequel!
