Veruca--Well, it's been said better by others, but I'll restate here (you expected...not?): It's great that you don't place as high a value on looks, but the fact reamins that most do....they DO use it as a filter. It's rather similar to a job application. If your resume (face, body) isn't pretty, you're not gonna get a chance to interview (show your personality) except with a select few. It's just the way it is. And yes, women are just as shallow as men.
