Saccherin-- uh, I mean, Sweetness & Low: Whether monique is a real person or not is beside the point. I'll be damned if I don't know women like her. Hell, walk into any popular dance club on a Friday or Saturday night and you'll find the place crawling with them. Perhaps including at least two of my best friends. I have to admit, though, they're somewhat hypocritical and wouldn't say blatantly admit everything that monique admits, at least not in public, but they sure as hell have to me-- they have to come up with some explanation as to why I'm a lonely camper. You, S&L, are just like monique-- a victim of your surroundings, and I have yet to figure out how some of you people can live in such isolation from the rest of the world that you don't realize these other types of people exist. I admit, I'm a rarity, a TRUE freak of nature, so I'm not too surprised when people don't realize *I* exist-- but how the hell can you two not know each other exist? What, do you both live in biospheres or something? How fucking old are you? (Well, monique is my age.) Surely to God after all these years you've learned something about the world! PEOPLE ARE DIFFERENT FROM YOU! Not everybody is shallow, not everybody is completely un-shallow (actually, frankly, I don't believe anybody iscompletely either). I suppose I'm at an advantage from you two simply because I'm of a biracial background so I learned early on in life that not all people of one kind are like this and not all people of another kind are like that (although the majority may be in both cases). I can't say that I've ever been completely surrounded by only types of persons who are like me, primarily because I'm so freakish that there really aren't a lot of other people like me, both appearance and personality wise. My best friend was born rich, a California blonde and pure debutante early on life. My second best friend was born so poor her parents could barely afford to feed her older siblings. I was just about middle class as you can get for Alabama (which is probably lower class for any 1st world state) with upbringings ENTIRELY different from those two, yet I generally have never had any problem communicating with either and I've always known that both types of those persons have existed. Now I admit-- those two don't get along very well with each other, but that's some of that cat fight stuff that apparent S&L and monique have going on here. But it still baffles the hell out of me when people suddenly wake up one day and go, "Oh, look-- there are people who are completely different from us in the world!" What the hell's wrong with you two?
Techno, Slim and X-MAN: Let's see here... I'll drag out my trusty 1998 height study... mmmm...
% of American women who would date a 6'5 man: 60.5 % (which is actually where things bottom out-- same % from then on)
% of American women who would date a 6'4 man: 72.5 %
% of American women who would date a 5'8 man: 55.7 %
% of American women who would date a 5'3 man: 6.3 %
Well, looky here, I wonder who among the 4 of us is worse off? BY A MILE?
By the way X-MAN, your height is no where near 3 standard deviations of the average female height (which is what it would take for you to be taller than 98 % of women). You're actually pretty damn close to 1 standard deviation (probably about 1 1/3, but I don't feel like doing the exact math right now-- anyway, there's a dispute on exactly what the average height of a young woman is these days-- somewhere between 5'4 and 5'5.), and since I'm not in the mood to do that simple math, no way am I going to try and figure out exactly what 1 1/3 standard deviations would be, but since one SD is about 67 %, I'm going to guess that you're probably taller than about 80-85 % of females. I, on the other hand, am taller than less than 30 %. Actually, I couldn't even tell you the last young woman I met that was truly shorter than me, although with this high-heel craze these days it's kind of hard to tell. I can tell you, however, that 99.5+ % of men are taller than me. Which automatically makes me a very low-ball choice among women-- why date me when you can find 99 out of 100 other men who are more attractive in that aspect?
To be honest, if I were a girl, I wouldn't date me either!
