However I am not planning on seeing this one, therefore can make no intelligent comparisons.
I didn't know Rod Taylor was Australian.
Anyway, I didn't like the original very much. Some parts were okay, the Morlocks or whatever were scary. It was just too peace and love at that point with all the flower child Elois. Ick. No knocking peace and love or anything, but the way it was presented in the film was cloying and a bit preachy.
Rod Taylor was much better looking than Guy Pearce, but I didn't think he fit the role.
