10/07/96: Re: Day release

Plugger has become more generous as each day passes. In fact, he has allowed me to view a movie over the weekend. Unfortunately, it was under the condition that I had to sit next to him. I think this detracted from my viewing somewhat, particularly as he insisted on munching on popcorn throughout the movie. By the end of the movie, I thought I had a bad case of dandruff, but soon realised that it was merely popcorn debris.

The other condition on seeing the movie was that Plugger had to chose. He likes movies with short titles so that limited our possibilities. Eventually, he chose "Tin Cup".

Well, what can I say? The scenary was excellent - I could relate to this area, as earlier this year I travelled through Arizona, New Mexico and Colorado and Utah.

The acting was OK, but nothing special. It was apparent early in the movie that Rene Russo was not part of the cast because of her acting skills, although she did complement the scenary. Kevin Costner was basically Kevin Costner. Cheech Marin was probably the best part of the movie.

The plot: predictable until the end, but then became farcical.

Overall mark out of 10 : 6 (mainly reflecting the scenary)

I'm sure that you would like to know Plugger's thoughts on the movie - well, he said that he liked the popcorn.

And if you're wondering.... yes Plugger did allow me to take off the straight-jacket while watching the movie, but I had to put it back on as soon as the credits started rolling.

I thought I was improving under Plugger's therapy sessions, but I have regressed significantly in the last few minutes - I have just found out that Jacko is coming to Australia.

Anyway, I had better take a seat and comtemplate what I should do.
