10/06/96: IT ISN'T THAT BAD!!!

I think that this rating is a falsehood. The movie was a lot better than Mr. Cranky leads people to believe and the book was great as well. The movie leads a pretty good interpretation of what life was like back in the '60's. A black man could NOT recieve a fair trial, and a white man (or woman for that matter) would get away with the killing of another person, unless that person was white as well. Blacks were segregated against, and that is no lie I feel the movie did an excellent job of portraying the trial and also agree very much with the general theme of the movie.
