Enough with the blanket statements and bad grammar. She's not the worst actress ever (I think Winona Rider has that one locked up). Wait. Let me rephrase and rationalize. In Hollywood Land there are two types of stars: true actors who are chameleons and different in every role they take on, like Matthew McConaughey; and personality actors who play themselves in every role they take on, like Sandy and Winnie. Such personality actors should avoid being cast in pieces they can't handle: the Dracula/Age of Innocence/ Little Women/In Love and War (God what an embarrassment) ilk. Speed (no, not the sub-moronic sequel) and The Net, yes. In Love and War and A Time To Kill, NOT. Except that I can't think of another current IT GIRL who could have played Ellen Roark perfectly - maybe Gwyneth, Penelope, Jennifer Jason Leigh? Any ideas?
