A Time to Kill was a truely awful movie. My first complaint is the little girl. After she had been raped, had the skin torn from her body, urinated on, and thrown off a bridge, she was stll able to sit up and give her father a hug. Oh please! The next is Ellen. what was her purpose in the film? She could have very easily been cut out. Another is the whole semi-plot with donald Sutherland. He only neede to be in the film for a small cameo, then he could have exited. My biigest complaint lies with the ending. First, the actual verdict, not some little boy, should have shown the verdict. This also combined with another factor to form one of the worst endings of all time. The citizens' reaction was horrible. There should have been a huge riot. Instead, there was a little bit of spitting and screaming. Wow, I'm all a tingle. I don't know why Schumaker took the movie in the direction he did. I hope that his next efforts will be much more impressive or at least decent.
