Richard, I have a serious problem with issues of good and evil, right and wrong, and basic civility.
09/17/1999: Oh, the hell with this.

This thread is an open sewer.
I just have to keep reminding myself of that any time I'm temnpted to come back to it.
And Redundant, if your father's mother's entire family had perished in those ovens, you would NOT find that joke funny.
Think about that.
09/17/1999: Likely not.

I'm sorry. I'm bad.
09/17/1999: That's the whole goddamn problem with escalating abuse and vicious "humor" Posted by: rbernstein@nyls.edu (Richard_B_Bernstein)

Nobody THINKS.
Nobody feels ANY obligation to consider that words can be weapons and can injure and can cause real damage.
Oh, no. Nobody who uses words is at fault. The only people at fault are the people who let themselves be offended by the words.
Oh, no. Everything is funny, eh?
I use words for a living. I build articles and books. I've written for publication. I have known journalists, novelists, playwrights. NOBODY who is professionally and seriously involved with the use of words and language would DARE come up with the specious nonsense that people shovel out here all the time to justify their use of hurtful, abusive language and their wallowing in vicious excuses for humor.
