03/17/00: What is there to say?

This movie just plain sucked. Van Damme seemed barely awake, let alone interested. Dolph Lundgren was sorely missed. The chick they got to play the ditzy reporter couldn't hold a candle to Ally Walker in the original. The script seemed made up as they went along--"Hey, we need a scene in a strip club--let's have Van Damme sneak in there and use their computer," or whatever. Didn't his character have a computer at home? Why didn't he just go there? Even the action sequences were lame--about all I remember from the climax is Van Damme crashing through endless glass surfaces, and of course never bleeding. Since they had Goldberg, they should've just done a movie about pro wrestling, would've been a lot more fun.
