Saturday night, a student here was shot in the head as he left a local bar. He's surprisingly doing pretty well for someone who had to have part of his brain removed-- he's still in serious condition but they think he should be able to make a full recovery.
The scary part is that the two kids who shot him are *sixteen* years old. They weren't just a couple of random strangers who happened to be on the sidewalk when he left... Apparently, they had been in the bar earlier and this student had approached them when they started harrassing a few females friends of his. These two punks not only managed to get into the bar that night, they got their hands on a gun AND managed to get away. They weren't caught until this morning.
It's incredible to me that any of this happened... and the 150 students who actually witnessed the shooting are in total shock. Of course, if you ask me, this isn't going to effect anything on this campus. Kids will go back to that area-- if not that exact bar-- this weekend, the way they have every other weekend.
