11/05/1998: MetaTroll, do you want to hear something really strange?

Posted By: grundle

The person that you spoke to on the phone yesterday was not me. However, remember that poll I conducted yesterday in the "Pleasantville" forum? The one with the really strange questions? Did you wonder why I asked such silly questions?

Well, recently I read some very interesting information about one of the members of Crankyland in some of the different surveys. What did I learn about this person? Well, I learned that he was 26, used to have long blond hair like a sheepdog, and that his mother had made him a wonderful Godzilla costume for him when he was young.

Of course, that person was you, Metatroll.

Well, all three of those things described one of my friends from nearly two decades ago. I had thought that you and he might be the same person. It was really the Godzilla costume that got to me the most. Without that, none of the other things would have mattered.

If you had answered "yes" to all seven questions, then you would have been him. But based on your answeres, you are obviously not him.

Anyway, about this childhood friend of mine. I haven't spoken to him in six years, so he has no idea that I come to this website. Can you imagine how he would react if he saw that poll? After the first question he would think, "That's interesting." The second question would really peak his curiosity. Questions three, four, and five would really cause him to wonder. Question six, about his middle name being "Stanley," would definitely give him a heart attack. Question seven would make him feel like he was in an episode of "The Twilight Zone."

Before I typed in the poll, I spent a long time thinking about what questions I would ask. And as I did so, I kept imagining my friend looking at each question for the first time. I kept imagining how he would feel. I kept laughing and laughing. Oh, it was hilarious, what went on inside my head.
