Yeah, we agree on most this year. Odd, but it's an odd movie year...
One new point of disagreement: I really enjoyed "Waking Life", and it may wind up in my top ten. Then again, I think Linklater made the movie for Austin sensibilities (like "Slacker"): walk around long enough in Austin and you will have dozens of interesting conversations with wackos...
On "The One": once again, it falls under the category of cheesy fun. It is very deficient, obviously, but it does not cease to be a fun experience. Similar to our difference in opinions on "Ghosts of Mars".
On "Mullholland Drive": I enjoyed it. I enjoyed the odd characters and situations. And despite my complaints about the ending, I still found the final segment interesting. Not a great movie, and does not deserve all the accolade, but still worthy of an 8 out of 10, as far as my system goes.
