Went to your site and it's ...down. :)
See if you can catch a film called 'Lantana' in LA; it opened last week in LA apparently so might still be screening when you get there. It's head and shoulders above everything that's come out of Australia in the last few years - and that includes Moulin Rouge, The Dish, etc. Cleaned up big time at the Australian Film Institute awards this year. Highly recommended.
Can't argue with your assessments as a lot of those films haven't opened here - but you KNOW I loved "Riding In Cars With Boys"!
