To those of you who saw this and hated it because you got confused out of your mind - I suggest that you pay your 10 bucks, again, and see this movie again. Keep in mind this time that all the questions you are asking, have no answers, this movie is not about telling a straight forward story, it presents thoughts and ideas which are open to as much or as little interpretation as you can give it.
to those who have not yet seen this movie, do see it. I am not a huge fan of any of the actors, nor was i at all into any artistic dramatic movies, I protested seeing this in favor of the royal tennenbaums, my slightly over hormonal friend convinced us that we had to see this movie due to the parental warnings of sexual content.
This movie is a beautiful peace which took the best of the original ('Abre Los Ojos') and altered it slightly to turn into a more personal movie. The romance between (David) Tom Cruise and (Sofia) Penelope Cruz is both beautiful and incredibly realistic, through the movie there is no doubt about Davids love of sofia, the opposite not quite as true. The other aspects of the movie, the drama, the suspense, the mystery, were all so excellently presented that this movie left all of us in a state of awe, even the horny friend whose expected reaction would be "we saw her naughty bits hee hee hee" was blown away by the incredible romance of this movie,
I realize that this is an incredibly vague review but this movie is best seen with an incredibly open and uninfluenced mind, which i may have spoiled, but i urge everyone to see this.
