02/24/97: CHEVY CHASE MUST BE STOPPED . . . To Mr. Cranky: Only three bombs, why?!

Posted By: Kollege

Once again, the creatively-saturated Hollywood is trying to cash in on the oldest of formula's - National Lampoon's "(fill-in-the-blank) Vacation)." I have absolutely no idea what so ever why anyone would actually put up the money to see this slop. Does the film company that produce this piece of cinematic garbage actually think they're going to make all that money back? For God I say, this is the most pathetic example of comedy I have ever heard of since "Beverly Hills Ninja." And let me show for the record the following movies that have this National' label printed on it: "Loaded Weapon 1," "Christmas & European Vacation," and "Senior Trip." These are the same idiots that haven't produced a hit movie since "Animal House." Please! Stop the madness and leave Chevy Chase unemployed for the sake of humanity.

To Mr. Cranky: I have the deepest respect for you and I have never ever had any sort of malice towards your reviews, but I feel you have "dropped the ball." Three Bombs! Good God, has the REAL Mr. Cranky been kidnapped? The original would have given this horror of horrors the Dynamite on general principle because A: it stars Chevy Chase and B: the only funny parts are in the commercial. Tell me honestly, was the theater where you were watching this (and I use this term loosely) "film" filling up with some form of smoke or fog? If so, then, Mr. Cranky, you have been duped by some very scandalist people who are trying to cash in on your sedated stasis. I advise you call the local authorities and arrest the theater manager for this violation. Hope you get well, Cranky.

Knowledge is everything,

Kollege
