05/13/01: Re: Is this movie really that bad?

No it isn't!

In fact, I consider it to be one of my favorate movies ever. I fail to see any sound arguments against the movie and I doubt I ever will; and if you find something that you think will stand up; I will knock it down. Let me guess: you think the movie's obscure, you think it's pointless; you think the plot is weak, the scenes are slow, and you also don't believe a thing in it since nothing seems believable. Am I right? I once believed the above also, untill I watched it 20 more times. I heard about how great the movie was and after several viewings of frustration and cofusion, i finnaly got ( same with Citizen Kane ). You see, you people are probably worrying your little heads about things that need not be. For instance: In the scene when Scotty was following Madeline to the the Mckidrick hotel; the lady who ran the place said she never saw her, and when he went upstairs to check and he says "her car is gone" and she says "what car"; you were probably wondering how she got out and also as to how she slipped by without that lady noticing. And there are many more examples of this. But lets not delve into those. The novie is flawless in case you're wondering.(my spelling isn't by the way ) And thats all that needs to be said. You're all just missing the point. Which is that there is no concrete ppoint and that the whole movie is open to different interpetations and that's whatmakes this film so good. Perhaps the hidden meanings are too saphisticated for you all; or maybe you're so much like Scotty you don't want to admit it and therefore dismiss the movie.
